UVISDA and LVIWSRDA

The Upper Vancouver Island Square Dance Association and the Lower Vancouver Island Western Square and Round Dancing Associations objective is to promote Square and Round Dancing on Vancouver Island and in Powell River.

 

With that in mind they host two to three dances per year for their Regions clubs to promote Square and round Dancing.  One of those dances each year will be a Joint Dance hosted alliteratively by UVISDA or LVIWSRDA.

These clubs also provide the service of collecting the Square Dance Membership and Insurance fees from the clubs in their respective regions.  These fees are then sent into the >BC Square and Round Dance Federation.

They also issue awards or dangles to dancers for 25 years and every 5 years beyond the 25. 

​

The structure of these associations is based on an Executive Committee of Past President, President, Vice-President, Secretary, Treasurer and Club Delegates.  Each Club appoints or elects two delegates to serve . 

Sharing problems and ideas through contacts in these two organizations’ help each club bring new and creative ideas to grow and support the art of Square and Round Dancing.
